Paris Patsouridis
DIRECTOR / SCREENWRITER
I was born in 1982, in Alexandroupolis, Greece. I studied Electrical Engineering in Thessaloniki, Greece and attended an MSc course in Edinburgh, Scotland. I currently live and work in Athens, Greece.
During my studies in Thessaloniki I was involved in plenty theatrical performances and I was a founding member of the cultural organization FACTA NON VERBA (2002). In 2003 I participated in a collaboration with The Living Theater as an actor.
Since 2004, I have been involved in various film projects as a director, assistant director, director of photography, script writer or producer. I directed my first short film end and beginning in 2005. My second short film, called Black Tie was awarded several times in greek festivals and it was screened in festivals around Europe (Spain, Cyprus Scotland, Bulgaria). My next film, called PSYlence was shot in Edinburgh, UK in 2008, with an international cast and crew.
I directed my next short film when I moved to Athens. It is entitled under stress and it was released in June, 2011. The film has been screened and awarded in most main greek festivals and in Cyprus as well. It has also received plenty of positive comments and reviews by cinema audience and film critics.
My latest film is entitled Big Bad Sheep and it has been the first time the script comes from another writer, Sofia Georgovassili. The film was shot in 2012, under significantly difficult conditions and it was released almost a year later.
In Januray, 2014, I directed my first music video for the song Thrall by Mockbirth, a downtempo - triphop band, from Athens, Greece.
I have also directed throughout the last years teasers for the performaces of the One Two Free theatre company and I have created a video project entitled Venus and Adonis for the theatrical performance ...or not to love (2012) directed by Katerina Papanastasatou.
I am currently working on my next short film, entitled Bourbon with milk and I am preparing the script of my first feature.
